Purpose and Record Scope
Arrest and booking information can be public in Michigan, but the holder of each record matters. The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office holds county-jail booking material and administers its FOIA process. The 66th District Court inquiry can show a district-court case after arraignment, while MDOC OTIS is limited to people under Michigan Department of Corrections supervision. This site collects those official starting points and explains the differences between them. It does not maintain a public roster, a feed of new arrests, a court database, or photographs.
Reference Topics
Each topic directs readers to a defined record path rather than presenting a copied record or image.
- The home page covers the county's booking-record, custody, FOIA, and photo-request paths.
- Most Wanted Fugitives explains the local warrant-check limits and safe official follow-up.
- Crime News separates news reporting from custody and court records.
- The Owosso, Durand, and Corunna pages describe their distinct city record paths.
Private Site, Limited Role
This site is independently operated and is not connected with the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Office, Shiawassee County Jail, any Michigan corrections agency, or another government office. It cannot release a person, confirm a charge or custody status, alter a government record, or give legal advice.
- Only the office that created a record can provide an official copy or explain a withholding decision.
- Only the relevant jail or agency can confirm a current custody or release status.
- Bond, visitation, and inmate-account services are handled by the responsible public office and its authorized providers.
- Legal questions about a case, dismissal, sealing, or expungement require the court or qualified legal counsel.
A booking entry records an accusation or custody event, not guilt. Court disposition information is the appropriate place to confirm what later happened in a case.
